Coral Reefs, shellfish, crabs and even the Great Whales could all become extinct this century. Scientific reports from around the world state that Carbon Dioxide (CO2), already linked to climate change, is also altering the chemistry of the ocean. Carbon Dioxide gas dissolves in sea water, forming carbonic acid.

The scale of this disaster is only just becoming clear. Scientists working on tropical coral reefs have predicted that the majority of the earth's coral reefs could disappear by the year 2050 and eventually face extinction. Even, now, many researchers are concerned that some of the microscopic sea life which form the basis of the food chain, may already be affected.
